Big commitments from stud players (that no other program with championship aspirations is going for) in the last 3 weeks.
Chris Badger. (Take that, Stanford!)
Lo Wood. (A Florida cornerback not offered by one of the big 3 Florida schools!)
Blake Lueders. (A four star player whose only other big name offer was VaTech!)
The Florida’s, Texas’s, and USC’s of the world go for top 100 players, and the Irish are going after these 3 star guys. And this is after years of being shown up on the big stage by more talented teams with more athletes. Athletes that the Irish haven’t had.
But, they are getting them now.
Because, who cares about Rivals.com and about stars and recruiting rankings? (I don’t!) It would not make me more comfortable at all to see the Irish grab verbals from athletes with more stars and more big time offers. Not one bit. As long as the Irish coaching staff wants these guys, then I am sure they will be the guys that lead Notre Dame to a championship!

I was thinking the exact same thing when I read about the commits. Good call.
Yeah…these guys could be good, but I would just be a hell of a lot more comfortable if they were big name guys.
I’ll take a miss if other big programs are missing too, but to offer all these guys that championship programs aren’t going after?

Uhhhhh… Badger has offers from LSU, FSU, Oregon, BYU, Utah, Colorado, Mizzou and Cal + most schools figured he was Stanford bound as a double legacy so they didn’t bother offering.
Lueders has offers from North Carolina, Stanford, Va Tech, Iowa, Virginia, Wake Forest, and BC.
Lo Wood has offers from Michigan, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Stanford, Wake Forest, West Virginia, N.C. State, and Virginia.
These aren’t MAC level recruits like Willingham (Tregg Duerson, Abdel Banda, etc) used to offer.

Not MAC level schools, but not near the level of the last 2 (Irish) recruiting classes. I don’t want a “filler” class, I want a top 10 every year…That’s what the boys a USC, Texas, etc do.
The offers just aren’t that impressive other than LSU and Michigan. Lo Wood is a “big time” Florida recruit but wasn’t offered by a single one of the Florida powers? Please.
You like the fact the the Irish are battling for recruits with the likes of Iowa, BC, Stanford, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Virginia, and N.C. State?
It just doesn’t make me comfortable.
