Comes Around. Karma. Cause and Effect. The quality of your life is equal to that actions that you take in life. In other words, do good things, and good things will happen to you.
This brings me to the Michigan Wolverines (actually, their fans). Michigan is a program that can stake its claim as the best in college football history. A few others can, but most people boil it down to either the Wolverines, or Notre Dame.
Michigan’s fans had a great time in the face of the Notre Dame’s historically bad season last year. Poking a little fun at 3-9. Calling Charlie Weis the worst coach in America. Yep, they had a grand old time watching the Irish drown, forgetting the fact they were only treading water themselves. Michigan fans had a few spare life preservers, and decided to point and laugh at the Irish fans who didn’t.
Wouldn’t you know, Karma decided to puncture their life jackets, and now they are drowning. 8 losses, already a Michigan record. And you can count number 9 this week, ‘cuz they are playing the Bucks at the Shoe. Michigan is gonna get housed.
Sweet Karma. You watched laughter and humiliation go around, and sent Beanie Wells and Terelle Pryor to come around-right upside the Wolverine’s head. The job is done, cause and effect is served.
I know you are about justice, and far be it from me to question an ancient philosophy, but just maybe, you overdid it this time.

Syracuse is one of the worst teams in the FBS. Period. In fact, it’s either them, or the loser of the Apple Cup (I pity the state of Washington). But ND makes mistakes, and here a few that could give ‘Cuse a chance.
5.) Lining Golden Tate up at quarterback. After seeing him in the Wildcat, Lou wouldn’t even let him be an option quarterback.
4.) Jim Brown travels back in time to find his young self to play running back for the Orange.
3.) The entire Irish team must forfeit the game due to breaking curfew (by watching The Express “The Ernie Davis Story.)
2.) The team commemorates “Green Week” by smoking some green, and are too busy eating Reese’s Pieces to pay attention to the game.
1.) The Irish decide to be gentlemen, and let the ladies at St. Mary’s take a crack at it.

The Notre Dame coaches and players have one vital question that they must answer these last two weeks of the season. Are we ready to run? Because they’ll need to.
The Irish have shown flashes of being able to pound the football. Just flashes, not consistently. Against suspect competition. Aldridge and Allen have looked good on occasion. Just occasionally, not consistently. Against suspect competition. Wenger, Olson, and Young have thrown defenders out of the way every now and then. Just every now and then, not consistently. Against suspect competition.
When tough yards were needed against Pittsburgh, the backs and lineman were not up to par. When BC trotted out a good defensive line, the lineman fell to their knees and begged for mercy. Every time the challenge had been tall, the Irish have been small.
No more. It’s time for the lineman and backs to assert themselves and attack a defense. The passing game needs help, and it needs it now. Opposing coaches are clearing out their benches and even bringing in walk ons to put roughly 100 men to defend against Jimmy Clausen and the receivers. Enemy cheerleaders are letting a little nip-slip here and there to distract ND’s aerial assault. If that wasn’t bad enough, Michael Floyd is now injured. Taking it to the air just isn’t enough anymore.
The only tonic for the passing game is to run. Run against Syracuse to build confidence. Run against USC to show that this team won’t back down. Run to pass. Run to instill nastiness for next year.
Oh yes, it is time to run. Ready yet?
